About

A Real Journal for Research Done by Students

The Scivant Review publishes original research, reviews and short communications by high school and undergraduate students. Every paper is judged by the standards of scientific publishing, adjusted for what careful work at a student's level can reasonably achieve, and never lowered to fill an issue.

Our Commitment

Every Submission Gets Genuine Human Peer Review

People make every judgment. Each paper that passes screening is read double-blind by at least one independent reviewer, and every author receives a written report, whatever the decision. An editor makes every decision.

Standards

  • Soundness over spectacleA small, careful study can be published. Overstated claims can't.
  • Written criteriaReviewers score six criteria against published descriptions. See them.
  • Publication EthicsWe follow the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Our policies.
  • Fees Never Buy AcceptanceExpedited review buys speed only. Fees.
  • Open accessPublished articles are free to read under CC BY 4.0, and authors keep their copyright.

Who Runs the Journal

The Scivant Review is an independent journal. The Editor-in-Chief oversees screening and makes editorial decisions, supported by independent reviewers who are listed on the Editorial Board page.

All correspondence goes through the editorial office at editor@scivantreview.org.
